Gavin is a native BSL user from a Deaf family. With over twenty years experience in BSL training, he has been involved in developing a key BSL curriculum within Higher Education and has worked with several multinational sign language projects. Gavin is fluent in British, Finnish and American Sign Languages with some knowledge of Estonian, Swedish and a handful of European sign languages. He is a qualified A1 assessor of sign language interpreters, and has provided assessment and training to sign language interpreters at several universities and organisations. He has delivered continuing professional development training to sign language interpreters in the UK and other countries, on the visual nature of sign language in international contexts. Gavin also does stand up comedy shows all over Europe, and he also brings his humour and warmth into classrooms.
